Standard launch in Sydney followed by seminars
this month
July 2004
The launch of the new Market and Social Research
Standard (AS4752) at Standards Australia on 17
June will be followed by a national roadshow this
month, during which Market Research Quality Assurance
(MRQA) executive director Elissa Molloy will visit
each state to explain the benefits of adopting
the standard.
Standards Australia CEO John Tucker welcomed
everyone at the launch, then MRQA Council chair
Peter Coulthart said a few words about the history
of the standard, before introducing guest speaker
John Sergeant, national president of the Australian
Market and Society Research Society.
The development and implementation of AS4752 is
in keeping with global trends in the market research
industry and will be the basis of a full international
ISO standard, which is currently being developed
and should be available by 2006.
Adherence to the standard - which covers project
management and reporting, data collection, data
management and processing - is voluntary. The
standard builds upon MRQA's highly successful
Interviewer Quality Control Australia (IQCA) scheme.
Companies can now purchase AS4752 from Standards
Australia online at www.standards.com.au. MRQA
will publish support materials on CD ROM for distribution
at the seminars.
Details about the seminars will be emailed or
call Elissa on 02 9571 1212 for more information.
